This picture was taken in Manikya Ganapathi Temple on Ganesh Festival. These are Navagrahas, the GODLY representations some planets & SUN & MOON.
A humorous legend says, "son-in-law" is 10th planet. (jaamaataa dashamagrahaH). But now, since Pluto has been demoted from 'Planet' status, may be the great son-in-law gets promoted to 9th place and we still have navagrahas!
