Did you observe that - fourth hand is missing? one on his left - it fell off due to a thunderbolt recently some 4-5 months ago...

@Prashanth: 4th hand ? Did he have one !!??
I know that he has 3 eyes, 4 hands thing was news to me.. generally laxmi, saraswathi, vishnu , krishna has more than 2 hands alva ?
In this statue he had 4. Now only 3. He is holding Trishula with one of his right hand (rear one). Front right one is in a blessing position. Left hand is in a position with fingers down, palm away from us. And the forth which was holding 'Damaruga' fell down.
I've a similar photo taken some 3 years ago which has all 4 hands.
Lovely photo. Yes, that light pole needs to be removed from that spot and placed elsewhere... it spoils the view and has nothing more than distraction-value.
Hey, where exactly is this? Karwar proper? And how is Karwar in general for a weekend trip?

@Silkboard: Not karwar proper, around that area. Its a nice place to visit, along with mangalore, horanaDu, kollur, dharmastala etc.,
Murudeshwara as such can be covered in weekend, 5 days would be idle to cover the whole belt.
Prasanna Sastry from Hyderabadu, India
@silkboard you take any train which runs on the Konkan Railway Like Mangala Exp or Udipi-ratna giri Passenger. In that you can come across the Murudeshwar. B4 the station you can see the idol.
