Himalayas - A View

Kesari Uncle sent me this photo take by his cousin & suggested to enjoy the shivling there.
I surely enjoyed the white mountain but unable to explore my creativity to view the shivling there, may be it needs more devotional power!

giri shikhara looks beautiful.
I am always amazed looking such mountains, where the tip or upper half is covered with Snow and rest is not. I wonder how the temperature would be in such areas.

I got to understand this picture better. The Mountain name itself is called
Shivling.

Now, about visualizing the shape of mountains.
We flew Nikon Airline plane for "Himalaya Darshan" a few years back from Khatmandu airport & Back.
The airplane flew through our ( or Nepali ) side of Himalayas - Right up tp Namche Bazar base camp( The starting point of Everest Climb ). We enjoyed the view of Himalayan peaks.
The mammoth size of the towering Mt. Everest was frightening! - as we saw the "Himavantha" when we flew a thousand feet above Namche Bazar. We had to look up bending our necks!
It was about 0800 Hours in the morning! The Everest was shining like gold!
We saw " Gauri Shankar " twice as we flew up and down the route.
Gowri peak is a rounded smooth peak with white `avagunThan' of smooth white snow. Right by her side stood her husband Shanker with sharp 'jaTa-jooTaa' - a black craggy rocky sharp peak, which stood taller than Gowri.
It was strange, not a speck of white snow on the crown of Great Shiva!
Though he stood taller than Gowri.
amma, it was a perfect pictire of husband and wife!
I laid my video camera down on a seat in plane and bowed down to send my most humble namaskaara to the great mountain couple.
I shall never forget the moment in my life.
Gouri & Shanker really stood like a couple to be photographed!
It is in a vedio tape in my collection! You can watch the same when you visit us.

@TSSM: good idea! dip in the holy waters is tough to me.. I would always wish , why can't GOD fit a heater to those flowing water streams! Himalaya dalli taNeeru snaana , devare gathi TSSM avare!

No,not really so, if you go to Badrinath, you have 3 hotsprings ,right in front of the temple, which are enclosed in small tank like structures, one is moderately hot, one is very hot and the third one super hot,
Most pilgrims take bath . I have done it too. Outside it is very very cold, but in the hot spring it is comfortably hot. I have seen even very old people take bath.
There are many places like that .
Secondly, when one is on a pilgrimage, it is the devotion that surmouts all difficulties.
Have a visit and experience it yourself.

Visitng Himalayas is been my long pending dream :-)
