Leaves...Posted by Veena Shivanna (Bengalooru, India) on 28 April 2007 in Plant & Nature. I look out for these leaves when I buy Jasmine flower.. I miss them when my flower vendor offers me the polythene cover to carry them.

It's very very tasteful. Generally in Kasaragod, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District these leaves are used for delisious food 'Patrode' (Tulu / Kannada word) and in Kundapur side it's famous for 'Kesuvin Gojju' a tasty hot chutney and also for 'Kesuvinele gatti' and 'Chatti' (just like a omlet or dosa). In Kasaragod District it's used for Patrode and A very very tasty cury called 'Kotle Gasi'. in north india these leves are used for cooking just like patrode but small in size and here they are using 'Besan' insted of rise, and masala also different (typical haldi, corrionder and chilly Powder). Oh... I really miss it in Delhi. 20 Jul 2007 6:07am |
