I was never able to do it either! And for me it's double the shame, because the inventor of this toy is a Hungarian, Erno Rubik, who is revered here :)
I recently watched a movie "pursuit of Happyness" - and in that DVD there was a Rubik's Cube feature presented. I heard there are different techniques to solve the Rubik's puzzle. It featured few school students solving it in 15 seconds and some in little over a minute blindfolded. Thats amazing. I have one and am still solving. I guess i had done it once 2 years ago - and now unable to do it again. :)
