It's not "Panche" Mangesh Rao (No doubt, he used to wear panche) but "Panje" Mangesh Rao. "Panje" is name of a village.

@VN: I thought it was Panje Mangeshwara Raayaru, and Joshi one of our kannada columnists have also endorsed it. Anyways, I shall check it up. Thanks for pointing out.
"mooduanu ravi mooduvanu" poem is written by Panje Mangesh Rao.
I can very well analyse the cause of confusion. "udaya ravi" is the title of this poem written by Panje Mangesh Rao. "udaya ravi" is name of Kuvempu's home in Mysore. So the comnentator must have got confused.
